The Champion Bumper is always an intriguing betting heat and it’s the only race at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival where the runners don’t have to negotiate hurdles or fences. It will be interesting to see the Cheltenham market movers before going ahead with a Cheltenham bet considering that money often talks for the final race on Day Two of the meeting.

This was a race won by Sir Gerhard last year and the 2023 Bumper betting favourite is American Mike, with Gordon Elliott having a five-year-old who has won three races during a very short career. The form is clearly uncomprehensive although the horse has looked the part when landing victory at Navan and Down Royal.

Willie Mullins was the winning trainer at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival and he could have lots of potential Cheltenham winners when it comes to the 2023 Bumper. Facile Vega could be the winning horse at this meeting and there was a 10/11 victory in a Leopardstown Flat Race over Christmas.

The Bumper betting odds suggests that there are lots of lively chances when it comes to the 2023 Cheltenham Festival, with Redemption Day being another Willie Mullins-trained runner winning a Flat Race at Leopardstown Racecourse, with Pink In The Park and The Big Doyen among the other Cheltenham betting favourites.

Make sure you study the Cheltenham Festival betting guides and find out which trainers are worth following in order to land some Day Two betting winners. The Cheltenham 2023 betting odds are now starting to take shape.
